A confession…I used to like Boeing for its long-term prospects. Countries stepping into the 21st Century with a burgeoning middle class – like those from Latin America, central Europe and Asia – typically take huge jumps in air travel.

Intel has been rising on news of its technology breakthroughs. Most recently he announced the development of a battery technology that would allow laptops to operate for more than 24 hours without being plugged in. Now its shares should rise because it registered better-than-expected gains in revenue and profits

Are US banks safe again? And exactly how much more growth do they have left in the tank? I don’t trust our big banks. And the third quarter was rough on the economy. But the banks did more than just survive. Their lending went up and their bad loans went down. I’d call this a satisfying quarter (though not a great one by any means).

I’ve admired Southwest for years. I also fly with them. Their flights get delayed too much for my liking but I’d have the same complaint with every other airline too…
